Bakwena Lodge is an eco-luxury retreat on the banks of the Chobe River. We are located in the Chobe area and arrived at through the friendly village of Kazangula.

Botswana is safari country and Bakwena is ideally positioned, 1.5kms from the meeting place of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana. We are surrounded by the Chobe National Park and forest reserve, some 90km’s from Victoria Falls and Livingstone, 300 km’s West of the Okavango Delta and North of the Makgadigadi Salt pans.

Bakwena, from Setswana meaning ‘people of the crocodile’ one of the largest tribes in Botswana; embraces the surrounding culture and country as inspiration for its style and hospitality. Our staff are members of the local villages and form part of our responsible tourism initiative through investing in our local communities. Whether you have come to unwind or to have a safari adventure, we are your destination. Activities include game drives or river cruises in the Chobe, fishing trips, bird watching, nature walks and cultural tours.
